Abstract
Baselines are routinely measured using Global Positioning System (GPS) which are more precise and economical than terrestrial techniques over distances greater than a few kilometers. In relative positioning, the propagation effects due to the ionosphere and troposhere contribute errors in the accuracy of baseline measurement. The main objective of this papaer is to study the effect of the satellite elevation on the troposheric refraction error. It is not the purpose of the writing to discuss in detail the satellite, receiver adn other sources of errors such as orbital, clock and ephemeris ut rather tofocus on the computation of several models of troposheric refraction using simulated data.
