The various aspects of the processes involved int eh estuarine and neashore systems are presented briefly. These include the circulation pattern, deposition of sediment in estuaries, tidal hydraulics, refraction of waves and longshore transport. The physical features of Kemasin-Semerak area are also discussed with particular emphasis being placed on the coastal problems of teh area. The methods undertaken by the writer and his partners during the course of this study are presented together with the data obtained from field measurements. Various recommendations are suggested for further research on this type of study.
