This is not only a textbook for those studying library automationit is also a great hands-on guide for those automating a library. It covers just about every imaginable aspect of automation, providing a step-by-step checklist for media specialists and library administrators. The book follows the order of activities one would undertake in an automation project. Meghabghab provides detailed information in all areas: choosing vendors, collection preparation (retrospective conversion, bibliographic standards, etc.), installation, and online networking. Each section suggests activities that provide hands-on exercises.
