Abstract:
This project is a preliminary study to determine then feasibility of some selected liquid wastes to be considered for disposal by incimeration. In this project, three types of,liquid wastes were selected for testing, i.e; usedcooking oil, used lubrication oil and used paint. The final decision is made based on waste characterization results and test burn results. The waste characterization is limited to heat content and viscosity tests while the test burn is limited to identification of flame characteristics, smoke emissions and gaseous emissions. The results obtained form the tests conducated suggests that all three of the liquid wastes mentioned above are capable of being incinerated. However, pre-heating will be required and proper air/liquid waste ratio should be determined to reduce the smoke and gaseous emissions.
