Brickwork and Blockwork has been written to assist students studying for the Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying as well as learners who are in employment and working towards NVQ Level 1/2 Trowel Occupations. Author Notes

Dr Joseph Durkin is a tutor in brickwork at Hopwood Hall College, Rochdale, Greater Manchester. He has written extensively on the delivery, implementation and ethos of the new Diplomas as well as National Vocational Qualifications and has been involved with the many changes in vocational education and training over the years.
