Christy's book contains useful information needed to solve structural engineering problems using spreadsheet programs such as Excel. The book is divided into several sections, each containing several chapters covering topics such as editing and drawing in Excel, regression analysis, numerical integration, matrix math, seismic calculations, pile foundations, and reinforced concrete beams. In addition, the book contains specific topics in how to use Excel, importing AutoCAD drawings, and several reference materials. Each chapter contains several sections describing the concept of a particular topic. This book is very well written and easy to read and contains many illustrations, graphs, tables, examples, and references. It can serve as a resource for anyone involved in structural engineering, as well as a course resource for undergraduate studies in civil engineering.
