Graphs the characteristic spectral bands of over 1,000 surfactants. The spectra were measured and standardized with an FTIR-instrument: the background was corrected, atmospheric absorptions were subtracted, and the maximum absorbance was adjusted to one. Full information on every spectrum allows an exact assignment to specific molecular structure. An original decimal classification of surfactants, primarily based on chemical and technological criteria, is also presented to facilitate the systematic order of data.
