INTRODUCTION : With changes in teaching programmes, the school design also need to be changed. For the past 15 years the national type schools in Malaysia have not changed much especially in the planning and design of school buildings. The accommodation at existing schools was traditional in style and did not reflect the development in teaching methods that were taking place. In far too many instances, the school environments for learning have become relatively neutral, uninspiring, and unresponsive to the needs fo the people and the functions involved. Curricula have become increasingly diversified to meet the needs of individual pupils, and the whole educational process is more active and inter-related between its many aspects. The working groups vary considerably in size and may change from hour to hour as the pattern of work changes. Some characteristics of primary education have particularly strong implications for the design of the schools. The exclusive use of self contained classrooms have to give way to this moe varied provision of space. The curricuoum, our methods of teaching, the materials used in learnng, the pattern of the day, the school building we design all these and much besides have little or no effect unless they are in harmony with the nature of the child. As a result there was a big demand for new school building design. AIM OF THE PROJECT : The aim of the project is the concerned with the design of buildings which might respond to and stimulate what was already happening in education. To provide an environment in which tahe learning process can besat be carried forward.
