Library Journal Review
A paean to the work and followers of the Italian design firm Memphis, founded by Ettore Sottsass, a firm which is to furniture what post-modernism is to architecture. The unexpected juxtapositions of materials and colors, tawdry and rich, functional and impractical, mark the work of Memphis. Horn's book is essentially a catalog of the group's designs in many media (with excellent color plates), surrounded by a superficial, unelightening text. However, it does provide a handy overview of the firm, which heretofore has been covered only in scattered interior design magazines. For comprehensive collections.
