PURPOSE OF THESIS. It is an attempt to establish a better positive planning and architectural solution to achieve the objective, base on the Petronas's need. GOAL & OBJECTIVES. In development of this design thesis, among the goal and objectives to be achieved are as follows:- i) The goal of the design thesis is to facilitate the various needs of different user groups working, studying, training, or visiting in the proposed Training Centre. ii) The primary objectives are to create an environment which would be efficient and functional as well as pleasant and attractive. iii) In considering that the proposed PMTC is the first training centre of it's nature, therefore, the understanding of it's management development training strategy, objectives, philosophy, organizational structure, administration and others play an important role in providing proposals in the provision of this training centre. iv) The provision of training centre, includes provision of various facilities for various activities that need to function efficiently as a provision for a certain individual activity, combination of a few activities and also as a whole. Therefore in considering the aspects of site planning and organisation, design, environment, and others, archievement is towards efficiency for the various activities of learning, working, dwelling and recreational to perform as an individual activity, combination of a few and also harmonise as a whole. v) In the provision of training centre, consideration for the future in terms of its change, expansion and others are important. This acts simultaneously with the process of learning which by itself is dynamic, thats needs in due time and requirement. vi) Site planning and organisation play a vital role in achieving an efficient training centre. Therefore concentration and emphasis on this aspect is important. vii) In respect to their philosophy, Petronas has set their objectives that have to be achieved. Therefore, it is challenge in providing proposals and provision of the physical facilities that could assist in the achievement of those various objectives. viii) In understanding the required characteristic of each various facility to be provided, consideration and indepth study on the technical aspects are important and hence, must be included. ix) Is is felt that the outcame of this thesis will result in a more comfortable work or training environment, more conducive to productivity, as well as an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, which will result in a higher level of morale and identification with Petronas Management.
