The topic of environmental hazards now appears daily in our newspapers; this is a timely book on one of these potential hazards, that due to radio frequency (RF) radiation. As a handbook, it is chock-full of practical information at a level easily understood by anyone with two years of high school algebra and a basic understanding of physics and electronics. Discussed are instruments used for measuring radiation levels across the whole spectrum of RF waves as well as the in situ use of such equipment. Kitchen has done a good job of demonstrating how one makes practical use of the information in the book. There is a comprehensive list of references.
