Author Notes
Yu-Jin Zhang received a Ph.D. from the State University of Liege, Belgium, in 1989. From 1989 to 1993, he was with the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. In 1993, he joined the Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, where he is professor of image engineering since 1997. In 2003, he spent his sabbatical year as visiting professor at National Technological University, Singapore. He is vice president of China Society of Image and Graphics and the director of academic committee of the society. He is deputy editor-in-chief of ""Journal of Image and Graphics"" and associate editor of ""Pattern Recognition Letters"".
