Choice Review
Pansini, the author of Power Transmission and Distribution (CH, May'92) and Electric Transformers and Power Equipment (1988), intends this new work as a companion volume forming a trilogy primarily for utility company training programs and peripherally for sales personnel and lower-level undergraduate classroom use. Chapters cover the transmission and distribution systems, cogeneration, conductor supports, insulators and conductors, line equipment, overhead construction, underground construction, service factors, substations, street lighting, and essentials of electricity. The most obvious weakness of this latest volume is its essentially qualitative treatment with only review questions at the end of each chapter. Technical; general. I. L. Kosow; emeritus, City University of New York
