Summary
Summary
Asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) is a sophisticated telecommunications switching technique that allows the simultaneous transmission of voice, image, and computer data. It efficiently exploits the huge carrying capacity of optical fiber for transporting a wide range of information types across a broadband and integrated services digital network. Internet protocol (IP) is the envelope coding that enables transmission control orotocol (TCP) segments to travel between different networks. A collection of IP networks is called an internet.
