Abstract:
With VLSI technologies, the computer architects are no longer restricted by the cost of the logic circuits and memory. The desire and goal to increase the speed and power of a system are acheived with the parallelism in computer. This study is mainly concerned with the design and implementation of a general purpose four-node hypercube multiprocessor. Design includes the provision of a host processor with links to all the nodes of the hypercube to facilitate input ans output with the user. Each node consistsof a minimally configured MC68000 microprocessor and a networkinterface unit that connects the nodes together to form a hypercube.
