Summary

Summary

The Second Edition of this volume is the result of an extensive review process by the Joint Committee of the original Standards for Evaluations of Educational Programs, Projects, and Materials published in 1981.

The 30 standards are divided into four groups corresponding to the attributes of fair programme evaluation - utility; feasibility; propriety; and accuracy. In this new edition original standards have been combined and others added, with new case illustrations featuring applications of the standards to reform efforts in a diverse range of settings including schools, universities, law, medicine, nursing, business and social service agencies. Taken as a set, the Standards provide a working philosophy for evaluation which will lead to useful, feasible, ethical and sound programme evaluation.
