This useful manual provides guidelines for searching CD-ROM products. The information in part one is generic in nature and can be applied to a multitude of databases; it includes basic search~ing strategies, data record structures, and a basic overview of microcomputers and the search process. Part two covers eight different products: Wilsondisc, UMI, Compact Cambridge, Austrom, Grolier Encyclopedia, and the ISI citation indexes, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Science Citation Index. Meloche walks readers through searching in each product and offers helpful hints and techniques for each. A list of other important CD-ROM products for libraries sorted by subject is appended. ~--Patrick Dewey
