Summary

Summary

Hospitality Management, 2e covers 32 core competency units in the new SIT07 Tourism, Hospitality and Events Training Package for the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management. It provides the foundation knowledge needed for the role of a hospitality manager.

This new edition continues to combine theory with a skills building approach to explain the key principles of hospitality management at a supervisory, line management and senior management level. Hospitality Management, 2e helps students develop the professional skills necessary to ensure quality products and services in all hospitality operations. Central to this text is the concept of the hospitality organisation as a system with dynamic internal and external relationships. This system sits within the broader context of a legal, political and economic framework, both locally and worldwide, as tourism is a global industry affected by economic booms and busts, terrorism and demographic change.
