Summary
Summary
The IEEE publishes the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) every five years. The NESC's purpose is the practical safeguarding of persons during the installation, operation or maintenance of electric supply and communication lines and associated equipment. The NESC contains the basic, minimum safety requirements for aboveground and underground live-wire power distribution. The NESC is not a design specification or an instruction manual. Its primary purpose is the safety of employees and the public.
