Randolph (University of South Carolina) and Posner (Santa Clara University) provide an excellent overview and introduction to project planning. The authors include the basic techniques, as well as the managerial aspects, ``of getting the job done.'' The work is logically organized and clearly written, with major points supported by figures, summary lists, and section headings. Although brief mention was made of computer software for project management, further suggestions would have been useful since the interface for many users will be a computer. The authors make the point that a great many of us are project managers to some degree-the importance of that point is echoed by the more than 100 software packages available for personal computers in this field. Further information can be found in Managing Projects: A Systems Approach by Daniel D. Roman (1986) or Managing Projects in Organizations by J. Davidson Frame (CH, Oct '87).-W.C.
