The aim of this project is to help in improving the production planning and plant in a small scale manufacturing company. The company chosen for this project is Eastern Pewter (M) Sdn. Bhd., is located at Senai, Johor Bahru. The company is facing problems for examples in the areas of poor plant layout, improper scheduling and lack of invnetory control. the objectives of this thesis is to propose an improved plant layout, forecasting, scheduling, a means to control the inventory and a better reorder point of the products. The scope includes identifying problems in the existing manufacturing system, investigating the current demand of each product of the company, analyzing the present process flow and studying on any problems related to the existing layout. Collected data are then analyzed and tabulated through the use of various production and facilities planning thechniques. The objectives of this project have been achieved. Finally proposals are made to the management of the company for implementation so as to benefit the company.
