Over past decade, the computerized production planning and control systems were become widely used in manufacturing industry. however, most of small scale industries in Malaysia is still not recognize the importance of these types of computerized production management tools. In this contact, this project was carried out to do feasibility study on implementation of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system in a small scale manufacturing company, and toestablish a production and inventory management system using of MRP software. The study was carried out in Malayan Industrial & Engineering Co. Sdn Bhd., a small furniture manufacturing company in Tampoi. The proposed computerized production and inventory management system is able to manage inventory, bill of materials, part master, purchase order, shop floor control and create relevant reports. The computer software that has been used is PRODSTAR MRPII package.
