Abstract:
This is a thesis related to Industrial Engineering (IE) study conducted at BIMAXCO ELECTRONICS SDN.BHD., a company which currently developed a computer keyboard assembly line. It is the main objective of thesis to identify assembly line problems, and propose some recommendations for industrial application. However, only the major problems are selected for further analysis in details. This is done by using three methodologies - Method Time Measurement - 1, Ergonomic Workplace Analysis, and Ranked Positional Weight Technique of Line Balancing. Yet, it requires the cooperation and commitment of top management to achieve a succesful implementation of project proposals. Assistance from any other production practitioner is also beneficial to the overall improvement of the assembly line.
