Due to the dependence on foreign import of CNC technology, it was decided to design for local manufacture a domestic CNC. This gives an opportunity to improve CNC expertise in Malaysia and it is hoped that the project will lead the UTM charge in implementation of new technology in our nation. During the past five years, the main body and structure of the CNC has been designed and fabricated. This session, design of the controller need to be done and also the conceptualization of the software. Fabrication of uncompleted mechanical parts will be done, together with interfacing of the components that make up the control loop.
