Abstract:
Abrasive Jet Machining (AJM) is one of the unconventional machining that removes materials by focussing an high velocity stream of abrasive particles on the workpiece. The AJM set-up which was been developed is based on vacuum system and used for industrial application for deburring purpose. An new AJM set-up has been developed based on direct pressure system to overcome the limitations emerged from earlier set-up. Experimental tests has been carried out to study various input parameters such as abrasive flow rate, nozzle tip distances, carrier fluid pressure, etc. The results has been analysed and discussed on the basis on existing set-up before conclusions are made on the performance and suitability for deburring purpose of this new AJM set-up.
