Choice Review

This is the first book to integrate all topics related to NC (numerical control) machine programming and software design. It discusses NC machine programming systematically, through different approaches, and details the design and implementation of postprocessors. Emphasis is given to computer-aided programming in the APT language, NC programming in CAD/CAM systems, and postprocessor design. The authors describe actual design systems that are among the most widely used, although emphasis is placed on fundamentals of programming and software design. Numerous examples are given throughout. The book is very well written and its printing format is easy to read. A valuable resource for NC and APT programmers, manufacturing engineers, and NC software designers. Level: upper-division undergraduate and graduate. -S. C. Anand, Clemson University
