Abstract:
The pandper describes a new architecture and CMOS implementation of an RSA public key encryption chip which uses asynchronous modulo multiplication to achieve a significant improvement in throughput relative to previously described synchronous implementations. The asynchronous system is capable of an average throughput of 40kbit/s for 512 bit encryption with a 2 micron CMOS process and a 1 cm2 die area.
