Abstract:
In chapter one, both type of data structures (i.e.vector and raster) are discussed, the way how the raster data can be compacted for storage requirementis also reviewed briefly. In chapter two, the conversion process of raster formated data to vector format is discussed in detail, and then described some of the existing software systems concerning this particular conversion process. In chapter three, the opposite conversion process (i.e. vector-to-raster) and again some of the scanning plotters ( in terms of software systems) are also discussed. A possible algorithms for both raster-to-vector and vector-to-raster are discussed in chapter four and five respectively. Then the comparison between these two different type of data are made in chapter six.
