The Melaka State Goverment do not have a proper Islamic complex for the training of goverment officers, mainly those in the religious mainstream such asteachers, Imam, amir and the alike. The present training programs actually depend on the availability of space for rent. The proposed centre is part ofa large development to buil a comprehensive islamic complex for the State of Melaka. The main building, which is the state mosque has been completed in1989. The next phase of development will be the Conference Centre is meant to denotes the name of a building or a building complex where muslims gatherto discuss the community's problems and interest, undertake missionary, educational and welfare activities as well as a place for congregrational prayer. In the history of islam, this role is played by the mosque. The Conference Centre will provide for muslims a place to hold seminar, simposium, conference, lecture hall, library, administration office, hostel, guest room and exhibition. The conference centre has been proposed by the Melaka State Goverment to be call 'Kompleks Masjid Al-Azim, Negeri Melaka'.
