Abstract:
Ergonomics is a comparatively new discipline concerned with designing manufactured products and systems, with the aim of creating environments that are better suited for human living and work. In this project, ergonomic considerations were used to design a work station suitable to the Malaysian drivers at large. Aspects of ergonomics were used to design seating, controls, displays and also the physical layout of the work station itself. Apart from ergonomic considerations, human measurements were also used extensively in the design procedure. It is hoped that this project will be beneficial to the future design of such a work station for Malaysian drivers; one that is both functional and comfortable as well.
