The performance prediction techniques for plannign crafts is the most important criteria in ensuring a valid design. The performance of planning crafts in local waters is found not to correspond with the predicted results. It is the objectives of this project to assess the resistance and propulsion data and identify the relevant parameters affecting the performance of planning hulls in local water conditions. The sensitivity analysis done is for the parameters influenced by the water properties and temperature in Malaysia such as the local seawater density and kinematic viscocity. Eith the completion of these studies, the overall performance prediction and designing of planning crafts with deep-sea bottom could be done with suitability to our waters. The study is on a case study basis, based on an existing model built and designed by DESTINATION MARINE SERVICES SDN. BHD., JOHOR.
