Abstract:
Quality improvement is essentially basic management with customer statisfaction as its focus. Statistical methods are effective tools for improving the production process and reducing its effects. This thesis identifies the needs of the quality control function which are best satisfied by high speed computer. The objective of this thesis is to study the feasibility of a computer-aided statistical quality control for a electronics firm. This thesis gives and account of the literature survey and study of the applications of statistical quality control techniques in an electronics firm qulity control program. The process control is the area identified to use statistical quality control techniques. The SQC software package was developed mainly for defecta analysis. Program documentation, program listings, flowcharts and an operating manual for using the software are provided in this report to aid the understanding of the operation of the software. Turbo pascal programming language was chosen to enhance protability of the software with other related software packages. The use of Turbo Pascal Programming language greatly increased the difficulty of the project but it definitely enhances the usefulness of the complete software package.
