Solid-liquid separation is an important industrial process used for recovery of solids from suspensions and/or purification of liquids. Despite its application in many industries, ranging from the treatment of suspensions in the chemical industry to the purification of water supplies, the subject is not adequately covered in most undergraduate courses.
