Choice Review

On the surface, this is just another book advising corporate managers how to "ensure a successful culture change" in their organizations to prepare for the 21st century. What is different is the experience and perspective of the author. Martin, a Pulitzer Prize nominee, has been ranked fourth among the 25 people who have most influenced the world of computing, is a widely recognized authority on the business and societal impacts of computers, and is an information technology strategist and futurist with a remarkable track record. This is his 100th book! Martin postulates that the Internet and cyberspace will bring about a revolution in the nature of corporations, requiring business to think "cybercorp," which he defines as a corporation optimized for the age of cyberspace. The book is highly readable with many short, well-labeled sections. Clear drawings and insets to highlight key points aid the general reader, and the many references after each chapter support the author's presentation and provide resources for further study. Highly recommended for upper-division undergraduate and graduate business collections, and professional and large public libraries. R. T. Firtko Metropolitan State University
