This project is to rebuild and modify the existing gasification system and to carry out extensive experiments using a type of commonly found biomass material in Malaysia. A survey was carried out on the type of biomass material for the system. Palm oil waste (shell), was selected to be experimented in the system, which was initially modified as a result of the early investigations on its properties. Gasification isthe heat and chemical reaction process which takes place from partial combustion in a gasifier. The heat and chemical reaction processes produce a producer gas. Direct combustion has been tried to test whether the producer was combustible or otherwise. The other parameter that was monitored was ti define the duration in which the producer gas will burnt for a specific quantity of biomass raw material used. The experiments which have been carried out were to find the air and producer gas, quantity of producer gas will produced, the element contain in biomass material and the composition of producer gas.
